Following the talk there will be time for a Q and A from the audience and a networking session where Kate will be available to talk about what a casting director does, how they can access talent, and her experience of casting in film, television and theatre.

Kate Plantin CDG has worked extensively in casting for over twenty years having previously worked at the BBC. She is a member of the Casting Directors Guild of Great Britain & Ireland and a voting member of BAFTA

Kate has also worked for many years in the theatre casting productions as diverse as TELSTAR, which Kate also co-produced in the West End and for which Con O’Neill was nominated for an Olivier Award for his portrayal of Joe Meek, ENGLAND AWAY (Tour), OF MICE AND MEN (Tour), TOUCHING THE BLUE (Edinburgh), JOAN RIVERS – A WORK IN PROGRESS (Edinburgh and London), ON YOUR TOES (Royal Festival Hall), FOLLIES (Royal Festival Hall).

Television credits include JUDGE JOHN DEED (BBC), FILTHY RICH (HCA),  THE LILY SAVAGE SHOW (BBC), and the Cult Sci Fi series LEXX and also many childrens shows.

Kate is currently casting the feature film POWER & GLORY and the Black Comedy WE ARE TOURISTS which has recently started shooting in France.
