Hive Films are a UK based film production company, creating feature films for world wide distribution and theatrical release. Established in 2008 their first feature, ‘Zombie Undead’, was completed in 2010 and is distributed in the UK by Metrodome. The film is available worldwide including USA,Germany, France and Thailand. ‘Zombie Undead’ was selected for screening on the opening night of Fantasporto 2011 (the world’s premier fantasy film festival) where it was described as ‘the purest British gore’.
Hive Films second feature ‘How To Make A Movie For 43 Pounds’ is currently on the festival circuit and is set for a theatrical release in April 2014. Hive Films significant development slate includes ‘Memorabilia’ (A group of one-time school friends set out on a Star-Wars themed quest to save a princess), ‘Acid Daemons’ ( A new legal high leads to some users finding themselves peering in on a nightmarish parallel reality superimposed on their decaying housing estate ) and ‘The Desolation’ (A psychologically disturbed ex-soldier’s convalescence in a desolated cottage descends into insanity ).
‘finding Richard’ is a short film starring sixth Dr Who Colin Baker. It recieves its world premiere at Cannes 2014.
Since 2008, Rhys Davies has led in various positions across feature films, music promos, documentaries, shorts, commercials and online content. In addition he has written for US television. He is now Hive Films Head of Development and Transmedia. Rhys is a member of BAFTA Crew.
Rod Duncan is the author of a series of gritty, urban crime novels set in the English Midlands. His work is published in English by Simon & Schuster, in French by Liana Levi and in Italian by Garzanti. He is the screenwriter of ‘How To Make A Movie For 43 Pounds’ and ‘Memorabilia’.
